In a commendable display of integrity and civic duty, Winie Anne Namoco, a resident of Bauhugan, Dimiao, Bohol, delivered a lost wallet to the Dimiao Municipal Police Station (MPS) on August 15, 2024, around 1:00 PM.
The wallet, discovered by Namoco, was black and contained crucial identification cards along with a significant amount of cash. It was identified as belonging to Yu-Hao Wan, a Taiwanese tourist exploring Dimiao’s renowned attractions.
Later that same day, Wan retrieved his wallet in person and conveyed his profound gratitude to Namoco for her honesty, as well as to the Dimiao MPS for their diligent assistance.
Namoco’s actions reflect a commendable respect for others’ property and a steadfast commitment to ethical conduct. Her good deed not only aided Wan, but also emphasized the strong values of integrity within the Dimiao community.
The incident was highlighted in a Facebook post by the Dimiao MPS BPPo on August 18, which has since garnered significant attention and praise.
The Dimiao MPS has lauded Ms. Namoco for her exemplary conduct and urges residents to emulate her example by fostering honesty and goodwill.
Additionally, the MPS advises both residents and visitors to remain vigilant and secure their personal belongings during travels.
